Thanksgiving Dinner November 23th, 2023 SJ Ballroom 4:00pm Social and 5:00pm Dinner
Table Captains Instructions and Seating Revised. 200 max capacity Due to the various number of guests per reservation, and the size and number of DSRV tables and table linens. We may have to accommodate the larger parties by grouping them at either the "same table" or in "groups of tables" set up next to each other, in tables sizes of 8, 10, and 12, 14 or in a combination of them.
In addition each party will have an "extra serving table" for any of your table's side dishes, added beverages, and serving utensils brought in to the SJ to share.
Each reservation will have a "table captain" that will be responsible to help inform and organize their own party's dinner such as; side dishes, deserts, drinks, serving utensils, and a copy of the updated SJ kitchen and Table Reservation Guidelines and Standards.
Please understand We respectfully ask for your consideration to remember this is a "Holiday Event" on the actual holiday. Our staff employees take this time off to enjoy the holiday, therefore: We do not have: Resort Cleaners or the entire maintenance team working on Thanksgiving.
This is a team effort of volunteers who organize and prepare this lovely home cooked family style meal, and clean up afterwards.
DESERT SHADOWS RESORT Supplies the venue's reservations, linens, tables set up and main course of "Turkey & Gravy" among a few additional items; pitchers of water, coffee and tea, disposable cups, napkins, plates, bowels, silverware, and salt & pepper. Items will be on the table captains flyer.
WILL NOT BE ALLOWED We cannot put any food items prepared by residents in our SJ Refridgerators or freezers. No SJ serving spoons, knives, spatulas or serving plates, platters, bowels, etc will removed or borrowed from the SJ Kitchen except the items listed on the Table Captain's Flyer.(You can pick up in the Tickwet Booth) REASON: too many items go missing and are not returned. Must bring these items with your dish.
Our Goal is for you to make memories while enjoying this special day together, Thank You!
*Special Thanks to Lead Organizers "Ken Patrick & Dave Grywacheski"

Agua Caliente Elementary Read With Me Program Classroom Volunteers Needed Read With Me (RWM) is a local non-profit organization. Its mission is to use volunteers in the classroom to help Hispanic students learn how to read, speak and comprehend English. Currently, we need volunteers to help at Agua Caliente Elementary School 30800 San Luis Rey, located off of Ramon Rd. in Cathedral City. Our volunteers drive to the school and typically volunteer for one or two 60-minute periods each week. We ask that you volunteer for at least 8 weeks, but most of our volunteers participate for much longer than that. In the classroom, we work with 1-5 students at a time, volunteering with the same class of students on the same day and time each week. The role of the volunteer is explained at an Orientation Training session. Spanish skills are not needed. The RWM program offers volunteers flexibility, understanding that there are times when a volunteer is not available to attend class. If you would like more information on how to become a “Read With Me” Volunteer Please contact Lynn Baersch at Baersch@aol.com.
* Not a DSRV sponsored program, made available for anyone wanting to volunteer in a Cathedral City community program

Events Leaders Please pick up your "Event Planning Packet" from the Activities Office once you arrive this season. As your Activities Director, I will be asking for your completed packet as far in advance as possible. This gives me the time to coordinate with each event leader to make sure we are in concert with one another. This especially helps for planning and purchasing purposes such as: ticket office, menu, shopping, ordering inventory, 50/50's, keys, laundry, etc. Let's make sure your event is successful, fun and stress free! I can email it too! Thank you for your consideration.
